FAQ

  • Do I need to see a doctor before going to physical therapy?

    • No, you do not need a referral to see a Physical Therapist. Please see information about direct access HERE.

  • How long is each treatment session?

    • Typically 1 hour

  • Do I have to go where my doctor says?

    • You have the right to choose where you go. Even if a doctor strongly recommends a facility, it is always the patient's right to choose. We would love to see you at Willis Physical Therapy in Greenville, TX!

  • How many visits will I need?

    • It will depend on what is needed to help you return to your function. Most therapy prescriptions will start with 4-6 weeks at 2-3 times per week and we will work towards progress each week. Some treatment plans can be shorter than that, and some can be longer.

  • Is physical therapy painful?

    • We will never push you past your limits. In fact, many people leave each session feeling better than when they walked in. Some injuries and conditions will be more painful than others; but if pain is present, we will apply techniques and modalities to help reduce it. Generally, your pain should be decreasing each week and you’ll enjoy your time in therapy!

  • What does each visit cost?

    • We strive to make therapy affordable for you! Each session can depend on variables such as deductibles, copays, etc. Call us today to see what we can do for you!

  • What insurances do you accept?

    • Please see our INSURANCE page HERE. We’re currently seeing ALL PATIENTS and are in-network with many insurance companies.

  • Do I need to wear exercise clothes?

    • Loose and comfortable clothing is ideal. Loose clothing allows you to get the most out of your stretches, exercises, and helps the therapist access the particular body part they are working on.

  • What’s the difference between a Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant?

    • The Physical Therapist often has a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree, while the Physical Therapist Assistant has an Associate Degree. The Physical Therapist completes all evaluations and and constructs a plan best suited to help you meet your goals. The Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant will both conduct treatment which could include exercises, manual techniques, modalities, etc. The Physical Therapist Assistant follows the Physical Therapist’s treatment plan and closely communicates your progress with the Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist will change your treatment program as needed to keep you on track to meet your goals!
